On Saturday, I was lucky enough once again to stand in for Jerry Hayes as Longhorn Band photographer during the UT/New Mexico State football game in Texas Memorial Stadium. As usual, it was a huge thrill to enter the stadium through the tunnel and be down there on the sidelines during all the action.
Whereas I usually shoot the pre-game show from the western sideline, this time, I decided to try something different and headed straight down to the south end zone for some head-on shots. Although this plan didn’t work quite as well as I had hoped (more of which later in the week), I like this shot which, I reckon, gets across the sheer scale of the band quite nicely.
Nice! So I assume you get special access at home games from what I have seen?

Unfortunately, I only get special access on home game days when Jerry is out of town and he asks me to stand in for him. That’s typically one game per season but I’ll gladly take that one game!
