I’ve told the story of breaking my DSLR the night before visiting the Taj Mahal in a previous post so I won’t repeat it here. This is another of the shots I got with the $150 Nikon Coolpix pocket camera that saved the day during that visit. This is an example of a shot that, to me, just wouldn’t have worked without the lone figure. The tired traveler gives a sense of scale and something to draw the viewer’s eye.
What do you think?
I’d say you got your money’s worth on that $150 camera.
Kris Koeller´s last post ..A Visit to Bedell Cellars on North Fork, Long Island
True enough, Kris. That camera did a great job on that trip and proved to be a useful fallback camera on several other occasions. My only regret is that the image files it generated were pretty horrid and I can’t blow any of them up above 10×12 (and even that’s getting a bit iffy). My latest fallback camera, the Fuji X20, does a lot better but, I suppose it is 10 years newer technology so I shouldn’t be surprised.
