Windsor Castle

If you are in the London area, a visit to Windsor Castle is highly recommended. This is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, having been the seat of British monarchy for 1000 years. The castle exhibits a fascinating collection of architectural styles as different monarchs have added and remodeled over the centuries.

As a photographer, the only major annoyance here is that you are not allowed to take pictures inside any of the buildings. The exterior is fantastic but once you’ve been inside St. George’s Chapel, you’ll be spitting teeth at being unable to pull the camera and tripod out.
