Gazebo, Japanese Tea Garden, San Antonio

My sister-in-law just got engaged and had a lovely party down in the Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio. This huge wood and stone gazebo is at the heart of a beautiful complex of paths, ponds and gardens and formed a great backdrop for a super evening celebrating with friends and family a week ago.

As an interesting piece of trivial, one of the main signs outside the garden reads “Chinese Tea Garden”. Apparently the garden was completed during World War II and it was felt that naming it the “Japanese Tea Garden” would not have been politically acceptable. The name was changed to the more-accurate version once hostilities ended and things calmed down again.

For the technically inclined...
