Dripping Springs Hi-Steppers

Last Friday night was the first game of the Dripping Springs High School football season and, with a new freshman in the band, I’ve been drafted in as the photography coordinator. Although the band’s main performance is during the half time show, the best pictures are usually taken in the bleachers during the game when the band is providing “incidental music” to punctuate the play. During this time, the dance team (the Hi-Steppers) is also lined up by the band which gave me an opportunity to take this shot with the long lens I was using to pick out individual players in the band.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.3
  • Camera: NIKON D700
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 600mm
  • ISO: 3200
  • Shutter speed: 1/1500s
