In searching the site, I’ve just realised that I never posted this picture from my trip to Taipei last year. It’s definitely my favourite shot and it came to mind as a result of the fact that today’s “Photo Friday” theme is “Panorama”.
This shot was taken from an extremely popular viewpoint on Elephant Mountain which you can reach only by climbing a torturous set of steps. The situation was made even more torturous by the August temperature and, more importantly, humidity, but the results of the climb are well worth the effort because the panoramic view of the city from up there is spectacular.
For the technically inclined, this is a stitched HDR panorama comprised of 6 portrait-format panels, each a 5 exposure HDR. I did the stitching in Photoshop after tone-mapping each of the individual panels.
