Sir Norman Foster and team did a wonderful job of creating a fantastic new leading line for photos of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. The Millennium Bridge was not, however, totally without problems. Apparently, after it initially opened, it was discovered that it resonated with the footsteps of the people walking on it, causing the whole bridge to sway alarmingly. Thankfully, the addition of dampers cured the problem and the bridge is now a popular way of getting from the City of London across the Thames to the Tate Modern gallery.
Next time I am in London, I’m keen to go back there with a tripod at dusk but, on this visit, I had to put up with a grey day and a snap with my pocket camera instead.
That is sweet Dave, nice work
