The Moody Theater, Home of “Austin City Limits”

If you are a TV watching music lover in the US, you have almost certainly heard of “Austin City Limits“. Until a couple of years ago, it was recorded in a small theatre in the depths of the UT Communications building but, with the building of the new W Hotel in downtown Austin, the show changed venues and now occupies the enormous Moody Theater. I was lucky enough to be part of a photography group backstage tour there last weekend and got to wander around the empty building taking pictures. Here’s the first of them showing the main theatre from the stage.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 15mm
  • ISO: 400
  • Shutter speed: 3s
