Volcanoes in the Cascades

Flying out of Seattle is always a hit-and-miss affair for me. I try to pick a seat that will give me the best view of Mount Rainier but it seems that I normally get it wrong. On this occasion, I even changed from a left-side to a right-side seat at the airport and was rather annoyed to note Rainier slipping away on the left side as we climbed out of Seattle-Tacoma. Thankfully there are plenty of other volcanoes in the Cascades range so, while I was missing the main show on the left side, here was my view to the right. Mount Adams is in the foreground with Mount Hood behind it and, further off in the distance, Mount Jefferson and the Three Sisters (I think!).

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5
  • Camera: X20
  • Focal length: 25.6mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/950s
