Bulldogging

Here’s another fast and furious event that you’ll find at most rodeos. Bulldogging or steer wrestling tests a cowboy’s ability to catch and immobilise a steer. When a steer is released from the chute, the cowboy must chase it on horseback, jump off his horse, grab the steer by the horns and get it onto its side as quickly as possible.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Exposure bias: -3/6EV
  • Focal length: 200mm
  • ISO: 4500
  • Shutter speed: 1/750s
