Christmas at the Capitol

This past Thursday, I joined a couple of dozen photographers from the local “Drink and Click” chapter for a Christmas photowalk along Congress Avenue and up to the Texas State Capitol. Getting this shot took some teamwork – one photographer in the middle of the road and another standing by the crossing counting down seconds until the lights changed!

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 62mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 8s

Christmas at the Capitol | Dave Wilson Photography

[…] Once again, Christmas is sneaking up on me! I’ve not been into downtown Austin to take pictures this year but here’s a shot from a photowalk we did last Christmas. This shows the Texas State Capitol dome with the large Christmas tree in front of it. The lighting on the tree cycles through various colours and offers a great opportunity to linger and see which scheme works best. You can find another example of the tree in this post from last December. […]
