Common Raven

The common raven (corvus corax) is incredibly common inside Grand Tetons National Park. Apparently, they’ve reached pest status with their population having tripled in the last 40 years. This one was sitting on the Taggart Lake trailhead notice board when we finished our hike. Prior to this, it had been flying into the beds of all the trucks in the parking lot to see what it could find. Clever birds, these.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 300mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
