Tranquility

The highlight of our Grand Tetons adventure was, to me, our pre-sunrise hike to Taggart Lake and the views we found there. Every other location we visited fell into the “viewpoint” category and there were always other photographers around. Don’t get me wrong – Oxbow Bend, Schwabacher Landing and Snake River Overlook were spectacular too but the thing that set Taggart Lake apart was the quiet. We were the only people there and had free range to walk the lake shore and find as many great shooting locations as we could before the period of soft dawn light ended.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/11
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 170mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/8s
