Eastern Collared Lizard

We bumped into this Collared Lizard (crotaphytus collaris) while hiking near Ojo Caliente, New Mexico last week. These guys are apparently pretty common though this was the only one I noticed during our trip. They are, apparently, rather voracious predators whose favourite prey is other lizards.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.7
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 300mm
  • ISO: 400
  • Shutter speed: 1/750s
