Deck McGuire, Memphis Redbirds

We spent an evening at the Dell Diamond last weekend where we watched the Round Rock Express beat the Memphis Redbirds. This was the first time I had tried shooting baseball (with the exception of the junior games that Drew used to play when he was very much younger) and I must admit, I found it rather tricky. I guess I don’t know the game too well but I had a hard time figuring out angles that would lead to exciting shots. In the end, I came home with a card full of shots of pitchers in goofy positions. Here’s one of the least goofy shots showing Memphis pitcher Deck McGuire in action.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.3
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Exposure bias: -3/6EV
  • Focal length: 500mm
  • ISO: 3200
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
