Jorge Lorenzo, MotoGP 2016

In going through last year’s MotoGP pictures, I came across this shot of Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo who was then riding for Movistar Yamaha as Valentino Rossi’s teammate but has since moved on to Ducati. I was lucky enough to be shooting the race from trackside in 2016 so was about 60 feet closer to the action than this year and you can definitely see the difference in sharpness due to the lack of heat haze.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 280mm
  • ISO: 400
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
