The Republic of Texas Biker Rally in Austin this weekend draws motorcycle aficionados from across the nation along with a fabulous collection of custom bikes. Many of these sport intricate detailing and airbrush artwork. Here’s one I spotted parked on 6th Street that was particularly impressive. Although I’m not a rider, I love to look at motorcycles. They strike me as great examples of accessible engineering as art – beautiful examples of mechanical design at a price-point rather below the supercars that pretty much everyone drools over.
