October Sunrise

One of our sunrise locations during last October’s NxNW trip to New Hampshire was this rest area on the Kancamagus Highway. The view was spectacular and we were all desperate to get a good angle on the fog in the valley and the sun rising behind it. The angle from the ground, as seen here, was pretty good but the guys who had brought their drones zipped off to the left and got some even more fantastic shots. I would link to those pictures but (a) I can’t find them on public URLs and (b) it would make this picture look lame 🙂

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 82mm
  • ISO: 64
  • Shutter speed: 1/1s
