Ladder-Backed Woodpecker (female)

A female ladder-backed woodpecked (Dryobates scalaris) seen at Pedernales Falls State Park, Texas on March 17th, 2018. I don’t know the mating habits of woodpeckers but it wouldn’t surprise me if this lady was the partner of the gentleman whose picture I posted on Monday.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Exposure bias: -1EV
  • Focal length: 600mm
  • ISO: 900
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
