Wellington and his Cone

I noticed this picture in my “unposted photos” collection this morning right after seeing a post on Facebook showing the same scene with the traffic cone lying on the ground. Apparently it was windy in Glasgow recently. The cone isn’t an official part of the sculpture (which sits outside the building now occupied by the Gallery of Modern Art) but it’s become a cultural icon which is quickly replaced by “street artists” as soon as the authorities remove it.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: X20
  • Focal length: 28.4mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/25s
