Short Ride

It’s been a while since I last posted a rodeo picture so here’s one from last October’s Brent Thurman Memorial Bull Riding event at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park. This rider probably wasn’t too happy with his ride since, based on the number of pictures I have between the gate opening and this one, it seems he was thrown in something around two seconds. Mind you, given how these bulls buck and spin, the fact that anyone can stay on one for two seconds, let alone the eight seconds required for a qualifying ride, is pretty remarkable.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Focal length: 140mm
  • ISO: 4500
  • Shutter speed: 1/750s
