Alfred Regan Mill on Roaring Fork Loop was the first of several mills we visited in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I was surprised at how small it is – barely larger than a shed – and that the millstone was only about two feet in diameter. Power to turn the stone was provided by a small, horizontal waterwheel directly under the building.
