Heinz Memorial Chapel

Yesterday’s photography highlight was 90 minutes of exclusive access to the Heinz Memorial Chapel on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. The chapel is normally closed to visitors on Saturdays but, for a very reasonable fee, you can book it for events so we took advantage of the offer to enjoy the luxury of not having to deal with (other) tourists wandering into our shots. The building, built using money left to the university in the will of Henry J. Heinz and dedicated in November 1938, is absolutely spectacular with amazing floor-to-very-high-ceiling stained glass panels.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/11
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 8mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/3s
