A Crabeater Seal (Lobodon carcinophaga) hauled out on an ice flow at Petermann Island, Antarctica on December 31st, 2024. Despite the name, these seals do not eat crabs. Their diet is 90% krill with some cephalopods and fish making up the remainder.
