A couple of juvenile elephant seals (Mirounga leonina) playing in the water at the site of Shackleton’s Peggotty Camp in King Haakon Bay, South Georgia on December 26th, 2024. Due to their rather sausage-like appearance, young elephant seals are affectionately known as “wieners”.
