With the advent of high quality video, we no longer need to have a band photographer stationed high above the 50 yard line at half time to capture marching formations so one of us is free to look for new opportunities. Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium originally opened in 1924 with a seating capacity of 27,000. After the latest set of additions in 2021, the official capacity is now just over 100,000 with the attendance record set during the UT/Georgia game in 2024 which saw over 105,000 people in the stadium.
