Windblown Mexican Hats

Texas is in the middle of wildflower season and our “front yard” (a field really) is awash with Mexican Hats. Today was extremely windy so, rather than waste time trying to get sharp images, I set the lens at f22 and tried for some abstracts of the flowers blowing in the wind. This one turned out rather pleasingly, I thought – blurred enough to be interesting but not blurred so much that you can’t make out what the flowers are.

Ironically enough, this is the first image I am posting which was taken with my brand new 70-200mm f2.8G VR lens – a lens I bought primarily due to the fact that it is extremely sharp. Look out for the crisp shots later when the wind dies down.
