Silicon Labs Building, Austin, Texas

The Silicon Labs building next to City Hall in downtown Austin.

To my mind, one of the best additions to the downtown landscape over the last decade is the new City Hall complex and the two new office buildings next to it. I’ve posted a couple of images of City Hall (here and here) already so here’s one of the building next door. The style is very different but still rather appealing in an angular, high-tech sort of way.

This is a 3 exposure HDR shot during last summer’s Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk.

Another HDR masterclass Dave. I love the geometry and perspective of the composition. The jet liner’s vapour trail aligning with the brei soleil works well.

Stephen,

Thanks! To be 100% honest, I didn’t notice the contrail until I got the images into Photomatix 🙂 I hate to say it but this was definitely a happy accident.
