Mountains at Badwater Basin, Death Valley

One of the things that I find really hard to get across after the trip is the scale of the landscape. The vastness doesn’t usually come across in the photographs quite as well as it does when you are standing there. In this case, however, having a couple of figures helps give a bit more of a sense of scale.

This image was taken at Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park. The park wasn’t especially busy when we were there but there were generally a one or two people in the shot. At first this annoyed me but later I started looking for figures specifically since they offered a bit of a sense of scale.
