I must get back to Death Valley sometime soon. This was taken on my too-short, 1 day visit back in 2010 when, strangely enough, we got rained on while waiting for sunrise at Zabriskie Point and found Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the continental US, to be rather slushier than we expected.
This abstract shot shows the basin with the lines formed by areas of water and different salt deposits.
