Shack on the Columbia River

We found this floating shack during our travels from Portland to Astoria a few weeks ago. It was pretty close to a public boat ramp and seemed to offer a great shooting opportunity. Unfortunately, when we got close, we realised that there was a huge, locked metal gate at the top of the gangway that led down to the platform so this was as close as we could get.

From the foreground, it would appear that this was not the first shack to be built at this location!

Nice. I never did walk over to this vantage point but I did shoot it from the boat launch with the big lens.

I know since one of my favourite sets of brackets from that night has 9 different blurry Scott Woods in it 🙂 I’ve saved that one for later since I’m not looking forward to trying to retouch it.
