Badlands at Blue Mesa, Petrified Forest National Park

When I visited Petrified Forest National Park last, it was about 25 years ago and you were free to wander all over Blue Mesa. I got some great (Fujichrome) shots that day and was looking forward to a repeat on this visit. Unfortunately, all those exciting areas are now closed to visitors and you are confined to a new, asphalt path running through the area. It’s still impressive but I was left very disappointed thus time found.
