Taipei 101 Morning

Just for some contrast, here’s another shot of Taipei 101 taken the morning before yesterday’s shot. The weather here has been pretty hazy (and hot and amazingly humid) and we’ve had some torrential rain. It feels rather equatorial and reminds me of the weather I remember from Guatemala. The impression is also reinforced by the fact the mountains surrounding the city are completely covered in lush vegetation.

Looking at a world map, I guess this shouldn’t be at all surprising. Taiwan is actually farther south than Texas and it looks as if Taipei is on a similar latitude to Mexico City.

Anyway, it’s time to embrace the humidity and get out there to climb Elephant Mountain in time for sunset…
