If you’re new to the goat-keeping world and need someone to hold your hand through the process, having Jeff Dodd around is a really good idea. Jeff is the goat expert at Dripping Springs 4-H and also, as seen in this photo, one of the MCs at the Hays County Livestock Show auction.
Jeff epitomises the kind of mentor that I’ve seen so frequently in 4-H at least in our area – dedicated parents delighted to share their expertise with the kids in the club and working ridiculously hard to give them the best possible experience while working on their project, whether that be raising animals, wood- or metal-working or preparing art.
