How’s about this for a strange (though somewhat unfortunate) coincidence? Last week, I posted a shot from Paris in Las Vegas and complained that I haven’t been to the real Paris for way too long. My wife was scheduled to take our niece to Paris during spring break for a long-planned 18th birthday present and I was going to be staying at home to look after the boys. After taking the ladies to the airport yesterday morning, however, it turned out that there was a problem with our niece’s passport and the airline would not allow her to travel! Even though her passport is valid until June, France apparently requires that your passport be valid for at least 3 months after your scheduled departure date and she missed this by 11 days.
Since everything was already paid for, Nikki decided to go ahead and travel. We got Taryn organized to fly to Denver and join her parents on their trip to Colorado and made a promise to reschedule the aunt/niece trip at a later date. My wonderful in-laws then stepped in and offered to look after the boys so I’m going to be jumping on a hastily-booked plane this evening to join Nikki in Paris for the week.
None of this has any relevance for today’s picture, of course, other than that there’s a Las Vegas connection. This shot shows a reflection on the front of one of the buildings in the City Center development there.
As a side-effect of all this, my posting this week may be erratic. I’ve queued up some pictures but having fun in the City of Lights may take priority over playing with WordPress so please forgive me if there are a few days missing a new picture.
Requiring that your passport be valid for at least 3 months, I think it’s an international “law”, cause I’ve seen the same restriction in many countries.
About the photograph, once more a great work with the reflections, Dave.
