Shafer Canyon, Canyonlands National Park

Our annual “NxNW” photoblogger get-together occurs next weekend so I’ve been looking through the pictures from last year’s trip to the Moab, Utah area in preparation for another few days of outstanding photography and camaraderie. This shot was taken at Shafer Canyon Overlook in Canyonlands National Park at about 9:30am or thereabouts. With a reasonably long lens, the recession of tones seen in the various layers heading out to the horizon was amazing.
