Old Glory

It’s July 4th so I had to post this picture of the US Flag taken last October in Bar Harbor during our NxNW trip up to Maine. Despite the fact that the basic design of the Stars and Stripes has been in existence since 1777, this is actually a very young flag. The flag has been modified 22 times in the history of the country and the current 50 star version was only adopted in July 1960 making it, at 55 years old, the longest used design so far.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/7.1
  • Camera: X20
  • Focal length: 7.6mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/800s
