Seattle’s EMP Museum (it used to stand for “Experience Music Project”) houses a fascinating collection of music, film and video-game related displays. It was founded by Paul Allen of Microsoft fame and, looking at many of the exhibits’ description cards, I get the distinct impression that he was looking for somewhere to store his extensive collection of memorabilia. We spent most of our time there in the sections devoted to video games (a great interactive display of the best indie games of the last 30 years) and movies (with special areas for sci-fi, horror and fantasy genres) but the entrance area is dominated by the music exhibits and, in particular, this enormous, inverted tower of guitars.
