Yesterday was a bit of a wash-out for the first day of practice before Sunday’s United States Grand Prix. The FP1 (free practice 1) session went ahead on a wet track but the heavens really opened just as FP2 was due to start. After waiting an hour for the rain to clear, the session was eventually cancelled. I spent the afternoon sitting inside a minivan – with no-one on the track due to lightning, the shuttles weren’t running – but I felt pretty bad for the spectators who were caught in the storm.
Saturday’s forecast is even worse so it’s not clear if there will be any racing at all before race day itself. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! In the meantime, though, here’s a picture of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes AMG Petronas who was fastest during the only session run today.
