The folks at Macphun sent me a review copy of Aurora HDR last week so I spent some time over the weekend playing with it. While I have yet to get into many of its more advanced features, I’m pretty impressed by what I’ve seen so far. It includes many options that I would normally associate with post-tone-mapping retouch and which I would normally use Photoshop for. As a one-stop-shop for Mac users without access to Photoshop, it looks like a very nice option. I’ll be playing with it more over the coming few weeks and will post my impressions as I try out different features.
This shot, which I processed in Aurora and then did some final rework on in Lightroom, was taken back in the summer of 2015 during our NxNW trip up to the Palouse region of Washington state. The famous “Weber House” is an abandoned farmhouse which you can find on Whitman Road (near Weber Road) just outside the town of Pulman.
