WEC Ligier at Sunset

The World Endurance Championship “6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas” race straddles sunset, starting at 5pm and ending at 11pm. For a glorious few minutes during the race, cars entering the home straight are bathed in  sunset light. Here’s number 43, the Ligier JS P2 of RGR Sport driven by Bruno Senna, Filipe Albuquerque and Ricardo Gonzales during those golden moments. While great for photography, I can imagine that the drivers don’t enjoy this period very much as they struggle to see with the sun directly in their eyes for half of the circuit.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 200mm
  • ISO: 1600
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
