The Light Inside, MFAH

Happy New Year! Nikki and I spent a couple of days last week down in Houston having a whirlwind tour of the many excellent museums down there. Much of the art we viewed was contemporary so I’ve decided to kick of 2019 with a series of 4 abstract images shot in or near the museum district. The first was taken inside the Museum of Fine Arts and depicts an installation by James Turrell called “The Light Inside“. This fills a tunnel joining two of the museum’s buildings and walking through it is a strangely disorienting experience.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4.8
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 28mm
  • ISO: 2200
  • Shutter speed: 1/60s
