Alexander Rossi, Andretti Motorsport Honda

I’m out at Circuit of the Americas again this weekend for the inaugural IndyCar race in Austin where I’m shooting stills for a cool project by Above Interactive which documents the fan experience at the track. Although I’m not working trackside (we’re shooting all the suites and grandstands), I got some time to play during this morning’s practice session so here’s a picture of Alexander Rossi on his way to taking the fastest time of the day.

Interestingly enough, I got to bump into Rossi again slightly later when I was asked to photograph him and artist Bill Patterson, some of whose prints he was signing in the Andretti Autosport trailer.

IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi from Andretti Autosport and artist Bill Patterson with one of his paintings of the driver during IndyCar Classic weekend at Circuit of the Americas, Austin, on March 23rd, 2019.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.3
  • Camera: NIKON D500
  • Focal length: 460mm
  • ISO: 900
  • Shutter speed: 1/2000s
