Cypress at Pedernales Falls

A cypress tree, rooted in the rocks by the river at Pedernales Falls State Park, near Johnson City, Texas.

Pedernales Falls is our local Texas State Park and a favourite for its interesting geology and an excellent bird blind. This past Sunday, however, was one of those horrendous, high temperature, high humidity Texas summer days so being out there was definitely less pleasant than usual. We arrived around 9am but left after only 90 minutes or so to get back home to air conditioning and a second shower.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M5MarkII
  • Focal length: 14mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/100s
