Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse

Peggy’s Cove is a hugely popular tourist destination about 30 minutes from Halifax in Nova Scotia. By 9am, the tourist buses have started rolling in but, if you arrive for a 6:30am sunrise, the place is pretty much deserted.

We visited the cove twice during our trip, trying for a decent sunrise each time and failing on both occasions. Grey skies and drizzle met us on both mornings. Regardless, we made the most of what we were given and I got some images of the area that I’m happy with.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/16
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Exposure bias: +5/10EV
  • Focal length: 28mm
  • ISO: 64
  • Shutter speed: 2s
