Longhorn Cheerleader

Continuing the theme of portraits shot during last Saturday’s Longhorn football game against Oklahoma State, here’s one of the cheerleaders who was performing in front of the band for part of the game.

This was taken using the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 lens which I’m very much enjoying. It acts like an 80-300mm f/2.8 on a full frame camera and is super sharp. I was a bit worried about too much depth of field moving to a micro four-thirds sensor but the fast lenses (f/2.8 and f/1.2) generate some really nicely blurred background and remain very sharp when used at full aperture so my fears appear to be unfounded.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: E-M5MarkII
  • Exposure bias: +3/10EV
  • Focal length: 150mm
  • ISO: 1600
  • Shutter speed: 1/640s
