University of Glasgow

This is the iconic tower in the main building at the University of Glasgow, my alma mater back in Scotland. The building sits on the top of a hill and overlooks a large part of the city with the tower providing an easily recognizable landmark from miles around.

The university was founded in 1451 but moved to its current site in 1870. When I attended in the mid 1980s, there were somewhere around 10,000 students enrolled but the figure today is about three times this number.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/13
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 7mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/180s
