Infinite Recharge, Dripping Springs

After a weekend playing “Infinite Recharge” at the Dripping Springs FIRST in Texas District Event, our first competition weekend of the 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition season is now behind us. It was great fun with a lot of local people coming to watch the robots play “Infinite Recharge”, a game involving transporting yellow “power cells”, shooting at various targets and attempting to attach to a swinging bar and lift your robot off the ground. Here’s the drive team for “The Spring Konstant”, the team I help mentor, queued up and ready for a match on Saturday.

I’m not sure how the rest of the team feel but I’m completely exhausted after spending two days on my feet from 7:30am until 10pm! This was a first for Dripping Springs High School, too, as it took on the job of hosting 32 teams from around the state for the event. From my perspective, everything seemed to go smoothly and those who attended seemed to enjoy the venue and competition.

We now have a two week break before heading to Fort Worth for our second Texas district event.

If you are looking for the other picture of the event, please check back in a couple of days when I’ll post a link to a gallery. I have 1200 frames to sift through, edit and upload, and that will take me another evening or two to complete.

For the technically inclined...
