Let’s segue cleanly from portraiture to my theme for the next week or so – Longhorn Band images. This is one of the 400 or so members of the University of Texas Longhorn Band seen during the football game against Louisiana State University in Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 7th, 2019.
Photographing for the band is something I absolutely love though, with so many band members, I find I seldom get to know their names. As in this case, I have hundreds of friendly portraits taken with very long lenses from very far away but no information at all about the folks in the frames.
All the pictures we (there are three of us who cover the band during football games) take are made freely available to the band so hopefully these anonymous subjects find their images and send word to friends and relatives who may be interested in copies.
