While trawling through the archives this past weekend, I discovered a collection of unprocessed images taken in Death Valley during a one day visit back in 2010. I fixed some of them up and will be posting them this coming week.
Several of the shots were taken with an old Canon G9 point-and-shoot which had been converted to take infrared images. The files were low resolution and horribly noisy but I liked some of the results. This is one of those pictures. It was taken in the Badwater Basin area and shows the van that we rented to get around. I was there with a group of half a dozen or so photographers as part of a photo tour of Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Due to weather-related closures are Bryce, though, we decided to drive over and try Death Valley on one of the days and it was a great decision, offering a totally different kind of landscape and some really interesting locations.
